‘You’re no longer listening to a truly independent American government’

Col. Douglas MacGregor (ret.) said in an interview Monday that the U.S. — while supportive of Israel — used to speak with its own voice about issues pertaining to the Middle East, but that has evolved and — under U.S. President Donald Trump — uses only Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s narrative.
“We used to try to be more even-handed if you go back a few years ago,” he said. “There’s no effort of that at all…no attempt whatsoever. We have wholeheartedly adopted the Netanyahu narrative for everything, which is why I said earlier, he’s ultimately in charge. He’s determining everything…and his agents inside the government and inside the White House are determining everything that happens. So, quite frankly, you’re no longer listening to a truly independent American government. This is very much an Israel-first administration.”
MacGregor was a guest on Judge Andrew Napolitano’s “Judging Freedom” and was shown a video of Tammy Bruce, the State Department spokeswoman (and former Fox News contributor), being asked about the UN’s accusation that Israeli forces methodically killed 15 rescuer workers whose bodies were found in a mass grave.
Bruce blamed Hamas for “abusing civilian infrastructure,” and said it has been Hamas’s actions that have caused “humanitarian-aid workers to be caught in the crossfire.”
“Every single thing that is happening in Gaza is happening because of Hamas,” she said.
MacGregor said Bruce did an excellent job of articulating the Israeli position.
“Tammy did a great job” in saying the exact message you would have heard from any Cabinet member.
“Everyone in this administration is singing the same tune,” he said.
[I would contend that this is not new, it was more hidden in previous administrations but every Congressional office has Jewish representative in it and has for years. Cheryl]
