NGOs Providing Documents for Migrants Traveling to U.S. Border

 by D. Michael DeRidder January 3, 2024

Documents obtained by Muckraker.com show detailed maps and plans for migrants traveling to the U.S. border. The documents created by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are being distributed across migration routes throughout in Central and South America.

The documents obtained were distributed by the UN International Organization of Migration (IOM), the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, and several other NGOs. The documents provide information on methods of transportation, travel routes, food, and hostels. Instructions on how migrants can fraudulently obtain refugee status are also provided.

Muckraker obtained the documents and investigated the NGOs operating along the mass migration routes. Muckraker reported on location from the Darién gap, which spans the border of Panama and Colombia. During their investigation they documented refugee encampments staffed by multiple foreign NGOs that include the European Union and the Norwegian Refugee Council, along with multinational NGOs that included the Red Cross, UNICEF, and the UNHCR.
